Wear the Weird.
In a world of fast fashion, Ai slop, and bandwagon trends, we created Sidewalk Laundry as a place where people can buy clothes that make them feel like themselves, and tell their own story.
This is for those who feel like they never fit in one lane.
You don't have to match the vibe- you ARE the vibe
We Love Art
Our Mom is one of the most talented artists we have ever seen. Growing up around her was a privilege, and from an early age she encouraged us to be creative and embrace the ideas that came from our heads. I wanted to share a love of art and individuality with the world, and it all started from sketches my brother has been making in his free time.
Our Story
From an early age, my brother and I were instilled with a deep love for art and the things people can create. Everybody has a story to tell, a personality to express, and something to give.
Sidewalk Laundry was born from this idea and has become our space ship, set to carry creativity into the eternal cosmos.
It started when I stumbled across my brothers sketchbook and found everything he had been secretly working on. We had lived across the country for several years and I convinced him to move out to Phoenix, away from everything we knew growing up. We both had a hard time being away from our family, but being together made our move to the Southwest worth it. We tried to find ways to deal with the isolation and self doubt that comes with being out on your own, and one of the best ways we found to cope were creative outlets. I enjoyed making silly videos for YouTube and trying to start a podcast, while he was pouring his imagination into the pages of his sketchbook.
The book was filled with drawings and characters I had never seen before and filled with amazement, my first thought was "these would look good on a shirt". After a few months of mulling it over, I finally pitched the idea of a clothing company surrounding his art. He naturally rejected it, but persistence is key. When he finally warmed up to the idea, he allowed me to create a couple mockups and see if people were interested, but not to let him know unless we really had something. To our surprise, friends, family and strangers we didn't know all responded really well to his art and the shirts we mocked up.
We decided to start with Print on Demand, which is where we are with our current setup, but looking to eventually make our own clothes down the line. We wanted to reduce waste, but still be able to have high quality, artist focused apparel that felt unique and outside the box.
We have always had a passion for fashion and streetwear, and I will admit his fits are a lot better than mine. We were tired of fast fashion, big brands and designs that felt inauthentic. Sidewalk Laundry is our way to give people clothes that may not make sense, but provide a way for them to express themselves. We celebrate creativity and those who don't fit into one lane. Wear these designs with crocs or a suit, we want to see both.
Our goal is to foster a community of creativity and positivity. This is our first time doing anything like this, and we are learning everything as we go along. Your feedback is so important, and we want to thank you for stopping by and supporting the mission.
We believe everybody is unique in their own way, and that we as humans are capable of amazing things. Let's see where this goes, and don't forget to wear the weird.
